Russ WildeHello all! My name is Russ Wilde and I am running for the ADETA board at the February 2007 AGM. I have been working in various aspects of distance education over the past seven years, mainly in curriculum development and learning technologies. Currently, I work in the Learning Resource Services department at Bow Valley College as Coordinator for eCampusAlberta and Learning Technologies. I also teach some face-to-face courses for the University of Calgary, Continuing Education.

My interest in running for the ADETA board is sparked by a desire to contribute to the distance education community in Alberta and beyond. My own professional development and career growth has been largely made possible through the existence of flexible, high-quality distance education options, and I wish to see these options increase so that more people can access learning throughout their careers. I also believe that we have come to an exciting point in the development of learning and communication technologies that will enable us to make even greater progress than we have thus far. It’s a great time to be a distance educator!
